Travel Malaysia For A True Asian Experience

If you want a truly Asian experience, you should travel Malaysia.  Malaysia has a greatly diverse line up of tourist destinations that all bespeak the heart of the Asian experience.

You can begin with Kuala Lumpur, which is the capital and largest city of Malaysia.  Its definition means muddy city or muddy confluence, as it is located at the convergence of the Gombak and Klang rivers.  The city features a tropical climate whose temperatures tend to remain constant at between 88 and 91 degrees Fahrenheit.  The city boasts a combination of brilliant modern and traditional Asian architecture.  There are many modern sites, like the Kuala Lumpur Tower and the Petronas Towers and more traditional Asian sites like the Masjid Jamek Mosque.  Kuala Lumpur is a wonderful city to experience and it is a must see when you travel Malaysia.

Kelantan is located on the northeast corner of the peninsula and exhibits a vital culture and the unsullied beauty of verdant paddy fields and bucolic fishing villages.  It is remotely situated and offers great tourist opportunities for fishing and river cruises, jungle hikes, and bird watching.

Malacca is a peaceful seaside city on the western shores of Peninsular Malaysia.  When you travel Malaysia, you will want to visit Malacca to experience its unique combination of Portuguese, Chinese, and Malay cultural, architectural, and historical influences.

Penang, translated “Island of the Betel Nut” is world-renowned for its natural beauty of glorious beaches, verdant greenery, and warm seas.  When you travel Malaysia, you will not want to miss this “Pearl of the Orient.”

Even though Perlis is the smallest state in Malaysia, it is abundant in color.  It is made up almost wholly of lush paddy fields that paint it a vibrant gold or brilliant green, depending upon the season.  When you travel Malaysia, Perlis will leave you with a true rustic Asian experience.

Sabah is the “Land Below the Wind.”  It is thusly named because it lies just below the typhoon belt, in the northeast crook of Borneo.  It is a tropical paradise, highlighted by cultural diversity and hardy landscape.

The prominent features of Sarawak are its vibrant rainforests.  This steamy jungle land is home to the orangutan and hornbill, and is the largest state in Malaysia.  This is the place to experience nature and adventure when you travel Malaysia.

Much more can be said about travel to Malaysia and the wide variety of natural, cultural, and historical experiences you can have on such a holiday.  Because of its great diversity, Malaysia is a single country wherein you might experience all of Asia, from its modern towering skyscrapers, to its lush paddy fields and exotic rainforests.
